Description Introduction to the use of common processing equipment.

Determination of
Final Grade
Chapter Tests-25%, Quizzes/homework-25% Final Exam-30% Labs 10% Attendance 10%. 
1. You will have 4 Major Tests and a Final Exam in this class. All tests and the exam are taken on blackboard during a specified time frame. If you miss the test and it has to be reopened, there will be an automatic deduction of 10 points. There are "NO RETAKES". If you miss "ONE" Test, your lowest current test score will be given for that test, ONLY if you missed the test due to an EXCUSED absence or a makeup test will be allowed if absence is excused per the absence policy. If you miss more than one test, you will receive a zero for each additional test you miss. If you are involved in Academic Dishonesty, you will receive a ZERO for that test. Taking the Final Exam is required to complete the course. Lab attendance and participation is required. 2. Homework assignments are to be submitted on blackboard and must be completed by due date, 20 PTS will be deducted if not submitted by due date. Homework more than a week late will not receive a grade higher than 50. 3. Cell Phone use is not permitted in the classroom or lab except during breaks. If a student is caught on their cell phone in class, the student will be asked to leave class and counted an unexcused absence for the day. 4. Students that are disruptive in class will be asked to leave and counted an unexcused absence for the day. 5. All grades will be posted on Blackboard. 6. The PTAC program has a dress code, failure to wear proper shoes and clothing will result in being sent out of class and counted absent for the day.

Attendance Policy
Research has shown a cause and effect relationship between attendance and college success. Missing a day of lecture can possible cause you to drop a letter grade on tests.
1. Tardiness (more than 5mins), for lectures or labs.
2. Absences: NOTE: Students will need to communicate with me about absences of more than 2 class days to receive an excused absence at my discretion. Excused absences (verifiable) are only allowed for, a personal doctors visit or a Childs doctor visit or an illness that requires a hospital stay, mandatory quarantine for COVID 19 exposure, or a death in your immediate family.
5 absences=drop 1 letter grade, 7 absences=drop 2 letter grades, 9-absences=drop 3 letter grades, 11 absences=F

COVID 19 Information The Lamar State College Port Arthur (LSCPA) Student Code of Conduct COVID 19 Policy requires students who have been exposed to COVID 19 or diagnosed with COVID 19 to report their condition on the COVID 19 Notification Form (available via a link on the Student Code of Conduct COVID19 webpage). This information will be provided to the Dean of Student Services. In addition, this policy requires all students to wear face coverings in compliance with the criteria included in the policy. Facility Policies No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission. Use of electronic devices is prohibited.
